Itasha Wrap Installation & Care: Plan Before the Kit Arrives
Plan your itasha wrap installation before printing begins. QQPOO supplies printed wrap kits and custom design; installation is handled by a local installer. Agree on the vehicle layout, panel coverage and material with both the supplier and installer before committing to production.

Choose an installer and share the brief
Buying your kit from a separate supplier? Use the customer-supplied itasha kit installer checklist to confirm material acceptance, labor scope and open questions with the local shop before production.
Send a local wrap installer your car’s make, model, year, body style and current photographs. Include aftermarket bodywork, repaired or repainted areas, and any existing wrap. Ask the installer to assess whether the surface is suitable and what preparation is needed. A photograph alone may not reveal the condition of paint or previous repairs.
Share the proposed artwork and panel coverage list. Ask how the installer will handle character details near door gaps, handles, wheel arches and panel edges. Confirm which work and materials are included in the installation quote, and whether removal of an old wrap is a separate charge.
Review the print layout first
Check the character’s face, important text and other focal details at panel boundaries. Review both sides of the vehicle rather than assuming one side is a simple mirror of the other. Give the team your intended coverage and any areas that must stay clear. Use the printing checklist to review file quality, proof approval and finishing questions before printing.
For a custom QQPOO design, allow the stated 3–5 working days for design and review. Printing and shipping are separate stages. Arrange the installation appointment after the expected delivery is confirmed, with time to inspect the kit.

Check the shipment before installation
- Check the outer packaging and photograph visible damage before opening.
- Compare the delivered pieces with the agreed panel list and product code.
- Check the printed artwork and finish with the installer before application.
- Keep the packaging and order details while resolving any delivery or content question.
- Contact the team before using material if the kit does not match the approved order.
Let the installer decide on working conditions, surface preparation, trimming and application methods for the supplied film. This planning guide does not replace product-specific application instructions or an inspection of the vehicle.
Agree on an aftercare routine
Before collecting the car, ask the installer when the first wash is appropriate and which cleaning products and methods suit the supplied film. Ask specifically about pressure washing near edges, brushes, solvents and polishing products. Follow the film supplier’s instructions and the installer’s advice for the material actually used on your car.
Inspect edges and high-wear areas during routine cleaning. If you notice lifting, damage or a change in the finish, photograph it and ask the installer or supplier how to proceed before attempting a repair. Keep a record of installation and any later work.
Lifespan and removal
The current custom-service specification is gloss PVC film with PET backing, with an expected service life of approximately 3–4 years depending on care. This is not a guarantee for every vehicle, exposure condition or stock product. Confirm the specification and any applicable terms for your order.
When it is time to remove the wrap, have an installer assess the film and paint condition. Discuss repainted or repaired surfaces before removal. Do not assume any wrap can be removed from every finish without risk.
